faq

Q: Can I perform stunts like backflips on stage? or leap into the audience from the stage?

A: NO. Breaking this rule will automatically remove you from the competition and may lead to security revoking your badge. Both the audience’s and your safety are at risk with this.

Q: I want to sing the song myself. Can I sing the song instead?

A: NO. The Battle of the Dance is a dance based competition and while you will not be disqualified you will not gain any points from doing so

Q: Can I use props in my performance?

A: YES. But in order to make sure they adhere to con regulations, every prop needs to be prop checked at Weapons Check.

Q: As a Battle of the Dance contestant, do I get a free ticket to Sunshine City Scare?

A. No. We don’t offer free tickets to any of our contest participants (cosplay, TikTok, Lip Sync).

Q: Can the DJ, once our performance has begun, provide us with precise lighting and cues? Is it possible for them to transition to alternative music during the performance?

A: The DJ will play the one MP3 track that has been provided. No special illumination will be provided. Still, every performance will be presented as professionally as possible by the tech staff.
