Video game horror featured at Sunshine City Scare 2023

Video game horror will be celebrated at Sunshine City Scare, a new breed of horror convention. The event is May 13-14 at the Coliseum and surrounding area in downtown St. Petersburg.

The new con is the first in Florida to feature video game horror as a main focus. Sunshine City Scare includes voice actors who portray major characters in the most popular games, a horror gaming area, and a tournament with $200 in cash prizes.

The horror con features video game voice actors who portray major characters in popular games and movies based on the games such as Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Dangonropa, and BioShock.

  • Claire Redfield from Resident Evil 2
  • Alessa from Silent Hill
  • Little Sister from BioShock 2
  • Celestia Ludenburg from Dangonronpa: the Animation

gaming area and tourney with cash prizes

There will be a gaming area with horror video games to play for free. And the gaming tournament will offer $200 in cash prizes. Game announcements and tournament info coming soon. Also, the gaming area is in the balcony of the Coliseum, which overlooks the vendor hall — making it a great place to game!
