At just 18 years old, Orlando-based The Star Cos is redefining cosplay by infusing her distinctive style into beloved characters. Drawing inspiration from drag and high fashion, her cosplays boast originality and a fresh take on classic personas. 

The accolades garnered — including the Best in Snow title at Holiday Matsuri 2022 and a Judge’s Award at Spooky Empire 2022 — underscore her talent and innovation. 

With a massive following of over 1 million on TikTok and 82,000 on Instagram, she captivates audiences with her extraordinary creations and inventive interpretations.

In addition, The Star Cos coordinates all of guest cosplayers, including the Advanced Guest Cosplayers and Emerging Guest Cosplayers. Important note: She is our fav Star in the universe!

Orlando-based King River Glass has been a guest cosplayer at several popular conventions like MegaCon 2023, AncientCityCon 2023, and WasabiCon 2023.

Their cosplay expertise is prop and armor construction, makeup/SFX, painting and finishing, and accessory and detail craftsmanship.

“I like to do SFX/make-up heavy characters because that is my background. I do special effects make up professionally so I love to incorporate it in my cosplay! I also do a lot of unconventional characters and turn them into muscular dudes!,” they said.

They have more than 62,000 followers on Instagram.

Orlando-based Cassandra Cosplays has been a guest cosplayer at a wide range of conventions, including two outside the U.S.: MegaCon, Cosplay World Richmond, and Anime St. Pete as well as FanExpo Toronto, and UCCONX Brazil. She has deep experience in makeup/SFX.

“I love to infuse my cosplay with performance, drawing on my professional acting skills to bring the character to life,” she said.

She has nearly 85,000 followers on Instagram.

Largo-based Starlight Darling Cosplay has been a guest cosplayer at big conventions in south Florida like Anime Iwai and Mizucon.

Her cosplay expertise is sewing and fabrication, prop and armor construction, makeup/SFX, painting and finishing, and accessory and detail craftsmanship.

“I love creating highly conceptual art pieces, which often include horror elements. That can range anywhere from zombifying my husband to be a minion for my Scarlet Witch to exploring themes of death in folklore,” she said.

Her current projects include a second version of Nadja (What We Do In The Shadows), a Sugarplum Fairy design of Sally (Nightmare Before Christmas) and bunny suit version of Wendy Torrance (The Shining).

Meet Verona Roses, who is filling-in last-minute for Kylies Kollection who had to cancel (but we’ll have her back soon). Verona Roses is part of our Emerging Cosplayer program that provides up-and-comers with an opportunity to not only showcase their cosplay prowess but also gain experience in cosplay guesting. And they are mentored by seasoned cosplay veterans who will guide them on the nuances of being an engaging and influential cosplay guest. Florida convention goers likely will recognize Verona Roses. And we’re excited to have her at Sunshine City Scare!

Titusville-based Cosplay Visions is part of our Emerging Cosplayer program that provides up-and-comers with an opportunity to not only showcase their cosplay prowess but also gain experience in cosplay guesting. And they are mentored by seasoned cosplay veterans who will guide them on the nuances of being an engaging and influential cosplay guest.

“I’ve always been big into fantasy and horror makeup. I often try and create something that is eye-catching and whimsical. I love creating creature makeups, and applying prosthetics to myself and others,” he said.
